In the beginning…
Hi, I’m Mel.
I grew up in Tassie. I am so grateful for this. Clean air. Pristine beaches. Beautiful landscape. Simply stunning! I had many wonderful experiences travelling to unique, special and sometimes hidden places in Tassie. Whilst I loved Tassie, I also had a hunger for travel and experiencing different cultures, language, music, architecture, food and so much more. Initially I wanted to be a photojournalist and studied Photography at University, but I never made a career out of it and am glad for this, so my photos remain mine to share with others as I wish.
Fast forward a number of years…
I took a trip with a couple of girlfriends to Italy. This was the beginning of my overseas adventures. I had a desperate need to travel to Spain, so the girls thankfully added this onto the itinerary. I specifically wanted to go to Barcelona – to see Gaudi’s architecture. Little did I know that I would fall in love with so much more the city had to offer. The contents of which will become the first book of The Adventures of Miss Mila Lilli.
Fast forward a few more of years…
I now have a daughter, Mila. She inspires me to live every day to the fullest AND to have fun and adventures along the way.
We have travelled, but we also have a lot of adventures at home. I look forward to welcoming you on our journey and hope we inspire you with our zest for life!
The Adventures of Miss Mila Lilli is a little girl, based on myself (Mel) and Mila. As I would say, “a combination of fruit flavours” 😉
